production in february
Normally in Los Angeles the weather is beautiful, occasionally the storms blow in in the winter months and cause havoc for everyone working on productions. Lucky for us we took account of the weather forecast and schedule our 1 interior day in an old theater in downtown Los Angeles. Missing the rain entirely and having the chance to view LA from an entirely new perspective.
Next time you do a shoot on the water and need your tech with his station on the boat with you, remember if you have a wide enough boat it is possible. For a shoot in Miami we were working with a local tech who was hesitant to set up his MacPro and 2 Eizo Monitors on our 24 foot flat bottomed boat. With a little finagling and help the set up worked out great! The clients were able to instantly view the shots and
we were please with the final shot.
While in Miami at Jimbo's we needed to keep the talent warm when they were not in the cool miami water which was at the time a cool 66 Degrees, we found this guy who came up with an ingenious solution to create Hot water for our talents hot tub by using a hot water tank, a generator and hose. I think his name may have been Mcguiver.
